The American Dream

Next year, I'm taking a winter intensive subject called "Searching for the American Dream." It's a history subject that involves going to the States for 3 weeks over the winter break in order to study the subject.

It is so incredibly awesome and I am so incredibly going! It's a quota subject, which means only so many students can go, and I was accepted!! I am so incredibly excited like you would not believe (or maybe you would). I might not be going on exchange, but like they say, when one door closes, another door opens.

New York, New York!

Boston

Washington D.C

I've never been to Boston, a baseball game or lived in an American college. It is going to be utterly fantastic.

Just so you know, American colleges = not so much fun to live in, for the most part. The rooms tend to be very small. Like, very, very small.

Shame you don't come to San Francisco. SF is awesome!

CONGRATS AGAIN HUN :D

I love that NY picture. So beautiful, yet so why I'm not wanting to go on exchange to NY. I could not live in such a busy hectic city... nah, that's what tourism is for :P

Which colleges will you live in?

That's fantastic, what an amazing choice! It's my dream to go to New York. I've decided that one day i'm going to meet all my US net friends, which is from Florida to Conneticut to Ohio to California! I want to work in USA for a while too, here's hoping it happens.

Thank y'all for your many and kind comments! I am flattered and overwhelmed. =)

A: I'm used to small, believe me. I lived in a boarding house. ;-) Yes, SF is a beautiful city, I've been there once some years ago. I am going to LA though over the summer. Awesome!

L: yes, yes indeed! :D

Jazzy: NY at Christmas is fantastic, let me tell you that. Do go some time in your life.

A: I know. NY is fabulous. I'm sure you will get there someday.

S: THANK YOU HUN. Ha ha. But NY is like THE CITY OF AWESOMENESS. And being busy etc is part of its charm. ;-) Lucky girl, going on exchange...*mutters darkly* just kidding! Not entire sure, the only one I know we're staying at (this will make jdl's day, I'm sure) is American in DC. Probably Boston College but I'll have to check.

D: Oh, there will be photos. So many that you will be begging for me to stop. Ha ha. But first, I need to get me a bigger camera card (128MB simply will NOT cut it.) You're going in Jan, aren't you, if I remember rightly? Anyhow, I have been there before, so I will try to pass on what I remember. I'm so excited for the both of us!!

K: Fingers crossed for you going to NY and working in the US someday! It would be utterly fantastic.

K: Really? Ha ha. Grass is always greener, and all that jazz. Aussie is a great place, though perhaps not quite as populated (and therein lies its charm?!) - be sure an' hit up Sydney and Melbourne before heading to the isolated and deserted Outback! It is truly something...

D: Thank you! Thank you very much :)

B: Don't worry, I'll be blogging about it like there's no tomorrow! =) And thanks.

JAG!!

I'm so sorry I missed out on this on your blog; I didn't have internet access for a few days. So, well, I know you're in, but all those pictures just made me go all..whoosh, inside! ACKK!!

You're going to Washington? Is there any way you could meet jdl?! That would be so exciting!! I mean, a real blog meeting!

NEW YORK! If I scream anymore, I'll burst. Hope your exams were good. And that you're fine. Enjoy!

Sharanya, believe me, you make ME like 10 times more excited! One of these days I'm likely to explode from sheer happiness! ;-)

Ha ha, jdl has already threatened to force me with hired gunmen to meet/visit him. Since he already knows who I am...well, we can only hope, can't we?

PS: hoping to reply to your email v. soon!

So I'm not sure how I didn't see this forever ago, but that's awesome. I've only ever been to Washington DC very briefly, but I've been going to NYC all my life & a bunch of my friends go to school in Boston and I've visited them a bunch there. I actually was in Boston yesterday! And I almost went to school there.

Super exciting stuff, you'll have such an amazing time! I want to hear all about it & see tons of photos.
