PEOPLE THIS IS NOT AN 'I HATE EDWARD CULLEN' FORUM. TAKE IT ELSEWHERE. ;-) Just kidding.
Sara: You, Arielle and jdl should totally form a facebook group called, I don't know, The I Hate Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse Fan Club. Oh, wait, it already is a group!
I know what you think. And I don't really care. Ha ha.
Oh believe me, I think the writing is terrible (I mean, has the woman never heard of full stops?!), and I hate Bella something fierce - which, you know, progresses as the books go on - but I am nothing in the sheer face of Edward's dazzle. It's not my fault I'm not immune. ;-)
Oh, feel free to go on (have you actually read it? really?) or, you know, email me?
Sharanya: the film's not coming out in Oz for another month - not until Dec. 12 - my friend and I are trying to book tickets and avoid the screaming fangirls!
The awesomeness that is Edward Cullen? Ha ha ha. Just kidding. Really, I think you either go with it or you don't, and if you don't, you're not really missing much.

PS: But seriously. I'm not a screaming fangirl, for which you should all be eternally grateful. ;-)
I liked the movie better than the book... because the gushy narration was all but gone, leaving the story to tell itself... The actress playing Bella was a little quirkier and tougher than I was expecting too, which was really refreshing.... I looooved Robert Pattinson as Cedric Diggory, and thought at the time "Ah, if only they made a Twilight movie and cast him as Edward..." and, lo and behold, they did! Hooray! He was SUCH a pasty heartthrob....

ABSOLUTELY sexy. :D I've been in love w/ vampires forEVER - from Lestat to Edward Cullen and every other creature in between! :D
EW.
S: Yeah, I've heard Lestat is quite something. I should read Interview with a Vampire.
I guess "sexy vampire" is kind of an oxymoron for you, eh, Arielle? ;-)

DARN, that movie. It isn't releasing in India anytime soon. Sob.
On the other hand, YAY for the English major! *blows pretty pink trumpet and glossy helium balloons*
I won't comment on the many, many reasons those books bother me.
...They do, though.

DITTO ARIELLE.
I read her post on Stephanie Meyer - it was the post before the one you linked me - and I couldn't agree more :P

I try not to dislike works of art* simply based on their inherent sexism...but Twilight is so fucking unhealthy in its female protagonist's mentality.
Like, I'm actually offended, and apt to make disparaging comments about Mormonism over it.

*comment about poor writing goes here.
Should I stop?

I simply do not understand all the hype. At all. What am I missing here?

Robert Pattison's smile = dazzling
Edward? Not so much. He broods too much.
